We recommend monthly maintenance for most aquariums, yet we can accommodate other scheduling requests. Aquarium owners who wish to preserve that “just-cleaned” look throughout the month may wish to have bi-monthly or even weekly service or check-ups.
Our aquarium maintenance begins with an overall assessment of livestock, equipment, and water quality. Fish are inspected for signs of stress, disease, parasitic infection, and other ailments. Though fish health is generally an indicator of overall tank performance, we also look for symptoms such as excess algal growth, discoloration, odor and other indicators of poor water quality. Our decades of hands-on experience has exposed us to the multitude of ways aquariums can go wrong. We have the knowledge and foresight to prevent these issues and to recognize and remedy problems at their earliest signs.
The mechanics of our service consists of the addition of new aquatic specimens, partial water changes via gravel siphoning (to remove detritus), cleaning of the glass, arrangement of the interior decor, and any necessary filter and equipment maintenance. We check fish food supplies and replenish as necessary, saving the aquarium owner any trips to the store.
